https://www.facebook.com/events/370794073005344/

B-SIDE has been jam packed with opened minded up for it party people for the last 3 months and our next live session is set to not disappoint.

An iconic name synonomous with multi-layered lyricism, liquid flows and blunted beats, Jehst is one of the few seminal figures credited with spearheading a movement of artists who would kick open the doors for homegrown Hip Hop to become as vibrant & healthy as it is today

Far from just a local hero, Jehst is a name known globally with an influence reaching far an
d wide from America's underground to Australia and back again. NME have named him a "cult hero", Mike Skinner (The Streets) described him as "fantastic" in his recent autobiography and even 'rapper's rapper' Pharoahe Monch has praised Jehst's abilities, telling The Cut "Dope, dope. I like his pocket... where his rhymes fall at."

With a captivating stage presence to match his studio persona, Jehst 's reputation on the live circuit has seen him billed alongside some truly iconic artists. This Autumn alone sees him sharing stages with DOOM, Public Enemy and Lord Finesse! So it's safe to say that the B-Side audience are in for a treat when he hits the stage with his live band to showcase new material as well bringing a live twist to some of his well known underground classics.

With Micall Parknsun (YNR) on the mic and the MPC, Jazz T (Boot Records / ITF champ) on turntables, Louis Slipperz (Task Force / Owiny Segoma Band) on bass, the sultry Fae Simon on backing vocals & time-changing magician Kwake (Speakers Corner Quartet) on drums, Jehst's live band are a force to be reckoned with.

For this monumental occasion we are truly blessed with a rare individual performance from DJ Primecuts, one the UK's most well known and respected turntablist DJ's.

SCRATCH Present: DJ WOODY'S TURNTABLES IN TECHNICOLOR FULL LIVE AV ON 2 BIG SCREENS

Scratch are proud to announce their special guest as DJ Woody with his awesome AV set

Back in March Woody teamed up with Scratch for the Brits snowboarding event where riders experienced for the first time Woody's newly designed AV set, a DJ set with live videos being scratched and mixed, videos that have actually been created by the very talented Woody himself!

The night in Switzerland was so successful that Scratch felt it necessary to invite Woody back so that the Big Chill House in London could also witness his amazing show. Woody is not only creative with his video, for those that aren't already aware, he is also a former ITF World DJ champion. So combine the visual experience with the audio experience and you have a match made in DJ heaven!

AV is nothing new to Woody infact audio and visuals have been a life long obsession.

Art teachers pet, at school he was that kid who could draw. Along came hip hop culture and music and by the end of school he was that kid who could scratch.

In another life Woody worked fulltime as a graphic designer for Britian’s largest independent TV station (Granada- ITV), a couple of World DJ titles later Woody becomes a fulltime DJ.

Today aided by cutting edge technology these 2 obsessions are finally allowed to co-exist in one creative outlet, enter Turntables In Technicolor.

An all new eye-popping, crowd-rocking AV DJ show designed to blow your mind and move your behind!

Utilizing his televisual design knowledge to create innovative custom visuals for the mix, Woody brings a unique insight and unrivaled DJ skills to the AV scene.

SCRATCH PRESENT : DJ MR THING & FIRST RATE, HOST MC, JEHST (YNR PRODUCTIONS), & SPIN DOCTOR.

Scratch are proud to announce their next special guests as Mr Thing and First Rate with host MC, Jehst.

Scratch are super proud to announce their next special guests as the incredible turntable party monsters Mr Thing and First Rate with host MC, the lyrically intelligent Jehst.

This event is a particularly exciting for two reasons. Firstly our guests DJ Mr Thing and First Rate come as a pair and will therefore include a very rare 4 turntable performance from two of the UK's finest turntablists.

Both were of course part of the Scratch Perverts back in 1999 when as a foursome (with Tony Vegas and Prime Cuts) they won the DMC World Team Championships with their legendary winning performance in New York.

The second reason this night is special is DJ Mr Thing and First Rate were one of the first DJ guests to perform at Scratch all the way back in the summer of 1996 at what used to be known as the Cross Bar (now the Big Chill House).

Since then, the two have been very much part of the Scratch family on regular occasions, performing at most of the Scratch nights both in the UK and abroad at events such as the MTV Cannes Film Festival and Snowbombing.

So expect to see some absolute magic on the decks from two very special friends of Scratch.

Hosting alongside Mr Thing and First Rate we have another UK Hip Hop stalwart, Jehst. The man who gave us classic cuts such as the critically acclaimed "High Plains Drifter" EP and the man behind the excellent YNR productions record label will be there to bless the mic and keep the crowd very happy!

Alongside our residents Matt Smooth, Richy Pitch, Lyley and Tomski we also welcome Doctors Orders resident DJ, Spin Doctor and as well as the turbo charged B-boy and B-girl battles and free entry before 12 (yes you haven't read that wrong) it guarantees to be an amazing night!

SATURDAY 25TH JULY - DJ MK (Kiss FM) and host M3NSA

Scratch is proud to announce DJ MK and host MC, M3NSA as our next special guests at Scratch!

DJ MK is one of the UKs leading Hip Hop deejays. He has been a favourite on the club scene for the last 10 years, displaying his turntable dexterity up and down the UK and throughout Europe, Australia and the United States. What sets MK apart from many of his peers is his ability to rock a crowd wherever he plays, be it Londons Ministry Of Sound, an Underground UK Hip Hop Jam, Pacha in Ibiza or an Arctic Monkeys after-party.

MK was the first UK DJ to release regular, well-packaged Hip Hop mixtapes at a time when no other DJ was doing so. These mix tapes earned him his props and a slot on the Capital rap show with Tim Westwood from 93 to 95. His mixtapes are now sold all over the world.

The man has done it all from providing cuts on various tracks for the likes of Roots Manuva, Dido, Jehst, Skitz and Lewis Parker to promoting Londons premier Hip Hop jams (The Hop and Live & Direct). MK held down one of the most popular shows on London based Hip Hop station Itch FM for four years before being headhunted by Kiss 100. He know host his own show on 1xtra alongside Extended Player, Shortie Blitz.

MK continues to tour the world as Roots Manuva’s DJ and is also a member of the powerhouse DJ crew Extended Players, alongside Shortee Blitz, Mr Thing and Harry Love.

He was behind the homegrown Hip Hop anthem Its All Live on Stonegroove Recordings, has released two volumes of his London Underground mix CDs to great acclaim and recently he compiled & mixed Bangers & Mash Vol. 2 (out now on Boombox). MK’s mixtape buzz led him to ink a deal with Antidote / Sanctuary Records for his first official album Above Board. It boasts 100% exclusive tracks from the cream of the UK Hip Hop scene. The first single lifted from the album is the DJ MK & Fallacy club banger My Show, which also finds MK weighing in with his debut production credit.
